It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation. I met Henry 2 weeks ago when a next door neighbor referred him to me. Henry and his crew finished painting the exterior of our house today and I believe that the public become aware when specific contractors do quality work. Henry is a perfectionist and pays extremely close detail to preparing the house prior to painting.The result is that we had the best paint job that I had on any house I owned.

Dr. Painter (Henry) deserves all these 5 star posts, if not 10 stars!  He is extremely professional, courteous and it was a pleasure doing business with him.  We hired him to paint the interior of our new home.  First let me say, his free estimate is extremely detailed and he takes his time to go over everything with you and properly explain what is needed.  Then sent a detailed email the next morning with the breakdown of everything and was willing to work with us.  After meeting with other painters, we quickly decided to go with Henry.  His crew came in on time, very friendly and got right to work!  They taped and masked off everything and quickly finished the job.  Honestly, if you need a painter --- hire Henry!  He did beyond what he quoted and with a smile on his face!

 Surpassed my expectations by a million miles!

I needed three estimates for clients who wanted their house painted inside and out so they could sell it and since I only had two (both direct referrals from people I trust) I checked the internet for a third.  Dr. Painter had the highest ratings of the painters I found, so I met with Henry, the owner, mainly as a formality as I was skeptical of what I might find on the internet.  And I sure am glad I did!  Going into our first meeting I thought I would spend 15 minutes with him but it ended up being over two hours!  I was extremely impressed with Henry's knowledge, his experience, his openness to my questioning, his attention to detail and his commitment to do the job right.  Being a business owner myself, I was extremely impressed with his business philosophy and the way he runs his business.  I asked him several questions related to employee safety, insurance, workers' compensation, etc. and every response was rock solid.  Upon my recommendation, my clients did hire Dr. Painter.  As I had never actually worked with Henry, I initially spent a lot of time checking on the work, basically trying to find problems.  The work was so excellent I found none.  They actually were exceeding my expectations which is extremely hard to do.  The funny thing is that Henry is the one who found the problems.  He would immediately bring them to me to discuss how to solve them.  Part way through the job I could see that Henry was so on top of the project and the quality of the work was so excellent that I finally stopped obsessing on it.  I had found someone who cared as much about his business and the quality of the work as I cared about my business.  Henry works in a very collaborative way and is a creative problem solver.  He saved me many headaches with this project, not only with the paint but with other issues that arose.  Honestly, when the job was finished the quality of the work was so supreme and the amount of time that went into the project was so large that I began to feel Henry was being underpaid.  It is difficult to compare "apples to apples" when it comes to something like comparing painting contractors.  There are so many ways to cut corners.  I can tell you that the quality of Henry's work, combined with his work ethic, are so superior to others that he really does stand in a league of his own.

I had a 54 year old home which had not had interior painting for many years. The original "cottage cheese" ceilings were still in place in the bedrooms and hallways.  The original cabinetry in the kitchen was a stained varnish and the cabinets should have been gutted and replaced. Thanks to Henry and his talented and experienced painters, we got fabulous results and save me lots of money from removing and replacing ceilings and cabinets.

We have a condo rental in Northridge that was trashed...needed everything, and I live 2 hours away.  Henry with Doctor Painter came in and fixed and painted EVERYTHING beautifully.  His paint job, including the ceilings and garage was fantastic.  He patched/caulked all the holes, and replaced all the door stops at no extra charge.  He's very clean, and covered all floors/carpet really well.  All the trim, closets, and stair railing look perfect.  We also had him and his crew clean the greasiest kitchen you ever saw, and re-grout/caulk the moldiest, grossest bathrooms ever.  Now it looks like new (truly, it looks great), we couldn't believe it.  He also re-screened, installed a light fixture, and fixed broken kitchen drawers nicely.  We were going to replace the carpet, but his crew cleaned it so well we're keeping it.  He's a great plumber too, as we needed new faucets and hoses.  Always answered his phone too.  Nice and reliable..what a relief for us!

I don't normally write reviews, but in this case, I feel that I must. I'm a woman who just purchased her first home. I bought a house that needed a lot of work. I called around 20 different contractors; half of them never even showed up. The dozen or so that did show up either had NO license, some were too expensive, others were too cheap, and a few of them were shady, to say the least. I finally got tired and decided to check the Better Business Bureau, where I found Henry's company, Doctor Painter.

I called Henry and spoke to him over the weekend; he showed up the next day. He listened to me and went over everything with me. He gave me a written estimate with over 40 references. I was so impressed with his presentation and attitude. I checked out his references, and everyone loved him. I hired him, and he started work about a week later.

I gotta say that this was the best experience I have ever had with any service company. They did exactly as they said they would. They cleaned up daily. They were respectful, honest, on time, very skillful and super friendly. I've never seen a paint job this clean. I am now one of his references. I wish Henry the best and hope to hire him and his crew again for my next project. I recommend Doctor Painter to everyone, including my friends and family.

We purchased our first home a few months ago- a fixer upper for sure. As everyone knows, these days, it's very hard to trust anyone, especially if you're going to open your wallet and let people you don't know into your house. We had never hired any contractor before, so we turned to family for help. My father in law recommended Henry Manizani with Doctor Painter.
Henry, who's a painting contractor, gave us a detailed written estimate for every thing with a start and finish date. We hired his painting company and they started about a week later. To get ready for paint, they did a lot of drywall repair, popcorn ceiling removal, stucco repair, general carpentry repairs etc.
We had them paint the interior and exterior of our house. Everything they've done is great; you can tell that they took pride in their work. Henry's workers are all professionals and NOT a bunch of day laborers off the corner.
I also wanted to mention the fact that they are licensed and insured which was important to us. We didn't want any liability if anyone got hurt on the job. There are too many unlicensed contractors out there and even the ones that are licensed are mostly not insured for workers comp.  We checked their record with the contractors board and everything was clean.
Henry is very knowledgeable and truly a perfectionist, he knows painting very well. Best of all, he's easy to work with and is honest.
We are very happy with the workmanship and service we received.

Henry & his crew recently completed painting 3 rooms in my house, plus my garage office & some exterior gates.  The work involved removing some wainscoting in one room and dealing with quite a bit of intricate trim.  As the work progressed I also asked him to refinish my antique front door.  The results are spectacular!  He also performed some things not included in the cost estimate, including replacement of smoke detectors and installation of some mini-blinds in one of the rooms painted.

As others have mentioned, Henry comes out and prepares a very detailed estimate.  There were no cost "overruns".  The work was completed in a timely manner.  He is fully licensed and insured.  His crew is very professional & friendly, and I had absolutely no concerns having them in my home.

I could not be happier with the work they performed, and Doctor Painter will be at the top of the list the next time I need work done.

My wife and I are very happy with the job Doctor Painter did repainting three rooms in our house. When Henry came by to give us an estimate, I could tell he cared about doing a good job; for example, he pointed out which trim really needed repainting. After we chose him to do the work, Henry helped us choose colors that we're really happy with. His assistant, Manuel, didn't just put coats of paint on the walls; he prepared them first and filled in all the holes (including some big ones from a bulletin board that we had torn off). One of our paint colors turned out to be pretty transparent, so he painted extra coats (at no extra labor charge) until the room looked great.

It's been a couple months now, and we're very happy with how our walls look. We're planning to hire Doctor Painter again for all of our paint jobs.

My dad recently retired, so my parents decided to fix up and paint their house in LA and move to Phoenix to be closer to us and the kids. A couple of years ago, Doctor Painter had done interior exterior painting on the house next door. Henry was highly recommended by the neighbor.

So we called Henry for an estimate; he spent more time than anybody else checking the house just to do the estimate. He spoke to us about all our options and ways to save money on labor and material. He was detailed, and listed everything that had to be done.

Before we made a decision, we got three other estimates. One of the estimates was so low that it scared us, another one was lower than Henry's, but that guy would not go into detail too much about what he was going to do; it was vague and sounded like there would be a lot of additional charges along the way, we certainly didn't want that. And finally, the third estimate was detailed and they had good reviews, but it was almost 50% higher than Henry's; we couldn't figure out why. In fact, Henry had more credentials than any of the contractors we met. Considering all the work that needed to be done and all the prep work, Henry's estimate was reasonable. Henry wanted only 10% deposit to start the job; two of the other contractors wanted a lot more money up front. We couldn't take any chances, so we hired Dr. Painter to do both interior exterior painting and other minor home repairs.

They started work when they said they would and finished on time for the open house. Henry was very professional, and on the job everyday. We had NO problems reaching him whenever needed, that's another thing, he is very easy to reach. There were NO hidden costs or headaches. As we were told, his workmanship was high quality. Henry is such a perfectionist; he really takes pride in his work. Our realtor liked his work so much that she now recommends Henry to all her clients.

We made the right choice and highly recommend Henry and Dr. Painter to everyone.
